The DS9490R is a USB bridge with 1-Wire® RJ11 interface to accommodate 1-Wire receptacles and networks. For a list of suitable 1-Wire network cables, refer to the Connectivity Matrix table in the DS1402x 1-Wire network cables data sheet. Both adapters are based on the DS2490 USB-to-1-Wire bridge chip.
The DS9490R USB Port Adapter and the DS1402D-DR8 Blue Dot Receptor connect to any standard universal serial bus (USB) port. The DS9490R connects to the USB port and then the DS1402D-DR8 connects to the DS9490 through an RJ-11 connection.
The DS9490 USB Port Adapter comes with the following features:
USB port
Internal 64-bit address
Communicates to all iButtons; can read but not write to DS198x EPROM iButtons
RJ-11 out
DS1402D-DR8 Blue Dot Receptor
Features of the Blue Dot receptor include:
Plugs into the DS9490R or DS9097U adapters
Provides a positive and durable connector for iButtons and ThermoLoggers
An adhesive pad on the back allows the Blue Dot to be stuck to any smooth surface
The DS1402-DR8+ cable is a coiled cable used to connect iButtons® to 1-Wire® masters, such as the LinkUSB. The DR8 suffix indicates that this cable is 2.4 m (8 ft) long when uncoiled. One end of the cable provides two "Blue Dot" connnectors that may be used either as a momentary touch or a dwelled contact for an iButton®. The other end is a modular connector for the master.
Description:
Using four basic types of connectors, 1-Wire® RJ-11, iButton®, Touch-and-Hold Probe, and Blue Dot™ Receptor, the DS1402 series of 1-Wire network cables provides connectivity for iButtons. The cables are designed to connect any USB, serial, or parallel port 1-Wire adapter to any iButton. Both, the iButton probe cables and the Blue Dot receptor cables can touch any iButton, but can only hold the F5 version iButtons. The DS1402-BR8+ is the only cable that connects to the DS1401 iButton Holder. Applications of the DS1402-series 1-Wire network cables range from software protection and access control to asset management and thermal monitoring through handheld computers.
